Cannabis popularity has recently risen drastically, commonly perceived as a magical treatment while associated with a variety of benefits, from relaxing effects to antioxidant and anti-inflammatory influences. Products enriched with CBD extracts and hemp oil are a strong trend, seen more prevalently around the world.
In Israel, the Cannabis industry is evolving mainly in the field of cosmetics, encouraged mainly by small companies, selling natural cosmetics. Nevertheless, mid-scale companies are entering the Cannabis market as well. For Example, Premier, a dead-sea cosmetics brand sold worldwide, has been cooperating with Together since 2019 to produce line of products based on dead sea minerals along with CBD. Another example is Moraz, a mid-scale brand that focuses on natural cosmetics based on medicinal herbs. Moraz works with Intelicanna, a public medical Cannabis company to produce CBD based cosmetics.
Moreover, a new brand called Organic Hemp Line was launched in the beginning of 2019, available only at Super Pharm stores. The brand's positioning relies on being organic and on CBD as an anti-aging agent. Another interesting example is provided by Careline, who launched a multi-functional facial cream enriched with hemp-seed oil along with balancing oil to prevent dryness.
Cannabis based products are not limited to the mass cosmetics market, but are also present in professional cosmetics, with both SR Cosmetics and Dr. Kadir who have launched Cannabis based lines. Moreover, this trend has also begun showing in the hair care category, with a new line of products by Style.
It is expected that more companies will join this trend, including larger scale cosmetic companies. Globally, the Cannabis cosmetic market is expected to show rapid growth over upcoming years, and we expect a similar pattern in Israel as well.
